How to easily unroot LG Optimus G Pro (E980)

Especially for those who utilize the one-click root method from the previous post, it is not difficult to make our device unrooted, we can get it done without the help of any tools and without installing any app. This method is only for Unrooting the LG Optimus G Pro, in case you already installed a custom recovery or custom ROMs then you need a LGNSPT tool and a LGE980 factory stock firmware (TOT file).

Here is the simplest way to unroot AT&T LG Optimus G Pro (E980), by utilizing the SuperSU app from Chainfire, if you use a root app other than SuperSU, then you should replace it with this app, since only this app that has full unroot options.

  1. Factory reset, this is necessary if you want to revert the settings back to their factory defaults (Settings -> General tab -> Backup and reset), keep in mind it will permanently erase all personal data stored on the internal storage, so make sure you’ve a working backup. Since this is optional, you aren’t forced to do so, this step just to make sure that there’s no bothers when unroot process running.
  2. Now open SuperSU -> Settings, scroll down and look for “Full unroot” options.
  3. An alert message will show up and tap “Continue”.
  4. When the root clean up runs smoothly, then your LG Optimus G Pro will reboot.
  5. After booting up, now try to verify by installing root checker app.
