Finally Verizon officially released the OTA update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with software version MJ7, after some time it can only be done via KIES. However, still with the same OS version – Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) so this time we can say that the MJ7 only bring a minor update for us, and according to the official changelog from VZW, it just brings two enhancements: improved connectivity and improved sound quality.
As we know, the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 has some issues related to call quality and WiFi, so with the release of the MJ7, hopefully it will be able to eliminate these issues. Some users on xda forums also discovered that they are now getting better signal strength, slow motion camera looks a lot better and slightly louder speaker after applying this software update.
If you are rooted users, don’t hesitate to carry out the MJ7 firmware, since with a little help from SuperSU we can keep root on our device after applying the update. And if you fail to keep root with SuperSU, then you can still able to regain root with Kingo Android root.
Here is the information that you will get after installing the OTA update:
So if call and sound issues on VZW Galaxy Note 3 is a major issue for you, then it’s better to download and apply the OTA update. If the issues are not a serious problem for you, then you can wait for a future software update that may be loaded with Android 4.4 (KitKat).
